Hacettepe Üniversitesi'nde ikinci öğretim ve uzaktan eğitim tezsiz yüksek lisans programlarına ALES olmadan başvurabilirsiniz. Bu programlarda yabancı dil şartı da aranmaz. Tezli yüksek lisans ve doktora programlarında ALES zorunludur; GRE veya GMAT puanı ALES yerine eşdeğer tabloyla kabul edilir. Güzel sanatlar, müzik ve sahne sanatları alanlarında ise ALES'e girmiş olma koşulu aranmaz.

Hacettepe Üniversitesi yüksek lisans öğrencileri TÜBİTAK BİDEB bursları gibi ulusal destek programlarına başvurabilir. Araştırma görevliliği kadroları ve TÜBİTAK projelerinde bursiyerlik de lisansüstü öğrencilerin başvurabildiği destek türleridir. Programlara göre değişen koşulları ve açık ilanları Mezun Kampüsü yüksek lisans rehberi üzerinden takip edebilirsiniz.

Hacettepe Üniversitesi'nde tezsiz yüksek lisans programları vardır ve en az iki, en fazla üç yarıyılda tamamlanır. Tezsiz programlar derslerle ve bir dönem projesiyle bitirilir. Hacettepe Üniversitesi yüksek lisans başvurularında YDS, e-YDS ve YÖKDİL kabul edilir. TOEFL iBT ve PTE Academic gibi ÖSYM'nin tanıdığı uluslararası sınavlar YDS karşılığına çevrilir. Tıp ve diş hekimliği alanındaki doktora başvurularında TIPDİL de geçerlidir. İkinci öğretim ve uzaktan eğitim tezsiz programlarda dil şartı aranmaz.

Hacettepe Üniversitesi doktora başvurusu için yüksek lisans diploması, ALES ve yabancı dil belgesi gerekir. Lisans mezunları bütünleşik doktora programlarına başvurabilir ve bu programlarda ALES şartı daha yüksektir. Temel tıp dallarında ALES yerine TUS puanı kullanılabilir.
