Announced the Additional Exam Program for Students Whose Maximum Duration at the Vocational School Has Expired

Istanbul Medipol University published an announcement regarding the additional exam rights for students whose maximum duration at the Vocational School has expired and the exam schedule. Article 44 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 states that additional exams for vocational school students whose maximum duration has expired will be held on the dates specified in the announcement. The announcement was published on October 27, 2026.

Final year students are granted two additional exam rights for all courses they have failed in order to graduate from their registered program at the end of the maximum duration.

Conditions for Participating in Additional Exams at the End of Maximum Duration

The basis for all students is the year 2015, and from this date onwards, additional exam rights have been granted considering the maximum duration of the program.

Rules to be Applied at the End of Additional Exams

The rules to be applied at the end of the additional exams are as follows:

• Those who reduce the number of failed courses to five will be granted three additional semesters for these five courses; students who fail up to five courses without taking additional exams will be granted four additional semesters.
• Students who fail one course at the end of the additional exams are granted the right to take the exams of the failed course an unlimited number of times.
• Students granted unlimited exam rights cannot benefit from their student rights.
• Students who have not taken any exams for a total of three academic years, consecutively or intermittently, are considered to have waived their unlimited exam rights and cannot benefit from this right.
• Students who cannot reduce the number of failed courses to five after the additional exams at the end of the maximum duration will have their registrations canceled.
• Students who will take the additional exams at the end of the maximum duration and have not completed internships/professional training can, upon request, undertake an internship/professional training for a one-time exception.

The additional exam application date is November 2-12, 2026, the announcement of the exam schedule is November 16, 2026, and the exam dates are set for November 18-20, 2026. The exams will be held face-to-face during these dates.
